📍 Brand Style Guide · v2.0 · Americana Kerby

Curb appeal for your
local business online.

Kerby shows a shop owner, in plain language, exactly how their business looks to the world — and how to make it look better. This guide defines the mark, colors, type, and voice behind that promise.

01 · Logo

The mark

A confident K set inside a map pin — "your local spot, marked." Clean, ownable, and legible from a hero down to a favicon. Pair it with the friendly lowercase wordmark; use the full lockup wherever there's room.

Primary lockup — on light backgrounds

Reversed — on navy / dark backgrounds

Square PNGs are for OAuth consent screens, app icons and avatars. Use the SVGs everywhere else.

02 · Clearspace & sizing

Give it room to breathe

Keep clear space around the logo equal to the width of the pin on all sides. Don't crowd it.

Minimum clear space = pin width

Icon min · 20px
Lockup min · 120px wide

Below these, use the pin alone

03 · Misuse

Keep it honest

The logo is our handshake. Don't distort it.

Correct proportions & color
Don't stretch or squash
Don't place on clashing colors
Don't rotate or add effects

04 · Color

Main Street Americana

Navy leads — steady and trustworthy. Barn red brings the energy, goldenrod adds warmth, and cream keeps it friendly and a little vintage. It should feel like a well-kept storefront on a good block, not corporate software.

06 · Voice & tone

Talk like a helpful neighbor

Kerby speaks to a busy shop owner, not a marketer. Plain, warm, and straight — the friend who tells you the truth because they're on your side.

Plain, never jargon

"Add your hours," not "optimize temporal metadata." If a shop owner wouldn't say it, we don't either.

Honest, no thumb on the scale

We show wins, ties, and losses. Real results, rendered as-is. Not another vendor with a rigged demo.

Encouraging, not alarmist

Every problem comes with a clear, doable next step. We point at the fix, not just the flaw.

Kerby, with an e

Always. The name is warm and a little playful — the copy should be too, without trying too hard.

✓ Sounds like Kerby

"Your listing's looking good — you're ahead of them on reviews. One thing: add a couple photos."

"You're open Sundays but Google doesn't know it. Let's fix that."

✕ Not Kerby

"Leverage our AI-driven presence optimization to maximize local SEO performance."

"CRITICAL: 14 errors detected in your online footprint."

07 · Icon system

The lens — Kerby's action mark

The pin marks your place; the lens inspects it. Use the magnifying glass as the recurring "take a look / run the audit" cue across the product — it's ownably Kerby without competing with the logo.

What goes in the lens

Plain lens
Everyday action & search. The default — scales to 18px.
K-lens
Branded moments: hero button, floating action, scanning state.
Check-lens
State: audit complete / verified.
Sparkle-lens
State: a win found / looking sharp.
Pin-in-lens
Hero graphic — 'let's look at your spot.' Large use only.
Shop-lens
Optional: 'see how your storefront looks.'

As an action button

Search a business…

Usage: line style for anything ≤ 24px (buttons, fields, nav); the filled K-lens only at 32px and up. Keep the handle at the same lower-right angle in every version.
