I'm a contractor or trade · Answering common questions

Content that answers real questions, for contractors

"How much does a roof replacement cost?" is the search. A page answering it is the reason they call you.

In the works

We haven't finished writing the rubric for this one, so it won't appear in your comparison yet. It's here so you know what's coming — and the advice below still holds if you want to get ahead of it.

#15 · CONTRACTORS

Why it matters here

The questions you answer twenty times a week on the phone are exactly what people type in first. Answering them in plain words on your site is what gets quoted back by search engines and AI tools.

Plumbers, electricians, remodellers, landscapers — the pattern is the same. Customers line up three quotes, and the one who replied first and looked established most often gets it.

What Kerby looks at

Whether your site answers the common pricing and process questions
Whether it's written plainly or padded
What the competitor answers that you don't

What decides it for contractors

Answering within the hour, not the day
Photos of jobs that look like the one they need
A page for each service and area you cover

This one is compared on the same rubric for every trade. We haven't written contractors-specific benchmarks for it yet.
