Photos of your actual work, for salons

Stock photos of someone else's tidy kitchen fool nobody.

In the works

We haven't finished writing the rubric for this one, so it won't appear in your comparison yet. It's here so you know what's coming — and the advice below still holds if you want to get ahead of it.

#11 · SALONS

Why it matters here

Photos of real jobs, staff and vehicles are what convince someone you exist and do good work. They're also the thing owners most often haven't touched in years.

A new client finds you on a phone, usually in the evening, usually deciding between you and two others nearby. If they can see the work and book without calling, you've got them.

What Kerby looks at

How many photos you have and when the newest went up
Whether they show real work versus stock images
How the competitor's photos compare

What decides it for salons

Recent photos of actual cuts and colour
Booking that works at 11pm without a phone call
A steady drip of new reviews, not a burst two years ago

This one is compared on the same rubric for every trade. We haven't written salons-specific benchmarks for it yet.
